A young mother has been arrested for allegedly leaving her baby in her car while she went to play pool in the early hours of the morning. But when police arrived on the scene, Chelsea Ball, 18, reassured them she had left her pet Dalmatian with the child for protection. After leaving the 17-month-old child in the car at 2.30 a.m., she went inside the pool hall to talk to a friend. She claimed she had been inside the pool hall no longer than half an hour but a witness gave a written statement saying it had been nearer an hour and a half.A 39-year-old local woman alerted police shortly before 3.30 a.m. and officers arrived on the scene.
