A new survey has named the Gateway Arch in St. Louis the LEAST IMPRESSIVE U.S. LANDMARK. The Alamo in San Antonio came in second, and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota came in third. The survey didn’t give people a ton of choices, so some clear contenders got left out . . . like the Hollywood Sign, the White House, the Space Needle in Seattle, the Liberty Bell, and EPCOT Center. St. Louis has a drug problem — not exactly shocking news. New numbers out this week underscore how much worse things are here — and how it’s impacting the economy. Job applicants in the St. Louis area are testing positive for a variety of illegal drugs at a rate that’s 20 percent higher than any other U.S. city. READ MORE ON THIS HERE
Sony and Nielsen have collaborated on a study to determine the “most impactful televised events” in history . . . and perhaps not surprisingly, the September 11th attacks came in at #1. The goal of the study was to determine an “Impact Score” to show which events “caused visceral reactions that are embedded in our memories.” This is the stuff that became monumental, primarily because of what we saw on TV.
